    Phytase Enhances Other Nutrients' Digestibility

Article that discusses trial by researchers S.A. Adedokun, A. Owusu-Asiedu, D. Ragland, P.Plumstead and O. Adeola at Purdue University with a 6-phytase derived from Buttiauxella spp. expressed in Trichoderma reesei, with a pH profile of 2.0-6.5. The results of this study showed that the 6-phytase used in the study not only increased calcium and phosphorus utilization but also enhanced the ileal digestibility of energy, nitrogen and several amino acids in the diet of growing pig.
